Diary of a Beauty Queen

It’s been almost a full year since I accidentally snapped my copy of DDR Konamix in half. It has got to be the worst feeling in the world when you destroy a game that you love. I miss you Konamix. Boy do I fucking miss you.

This story begins on a Saturday some eighteen months ago. The local Electronics Boutique at which I diligently worked received a shipment of games from a sister store. Inside I found a slightly used copy, or at least it looked that way, of Konamix. Now in this moment, when I held that game in my hand, I knew it was time for my fat ass to get up and dance. I was always interested in DDR but avoided the urge to purchase out of fear my a-hole employees would take pot shots at me.

Who wants to be a womp rat anyways?

So about a week later the urge over took me. Konamix was still in stock and I put it on hold for myself. Payday came and I proudly waited for the right moment to buy: taking advantage of our only female employee. Some how I managed to work out in my head that girls are nicer than boys. What a load of horse shit. See I thought that if I bought the game from her I could avoid the annoyance of my other coworkers. As usual my own thoughts deceived me. A few comments here or there over the next week or so and it was all over. Yeah kind of anticlimactic. I know.

Now what was the point of this story? Oh yeah. I need a new copy of DDR and I need it fast. I’ve done my fair share of research online. I even managed to sum up enough courage to ask a few brave souls which version was best. Surely I am pulling for DDR UNIVERSE (Xbox 360) if only for a small boost in my achievement score; a small boost as I really am a bad dancer. Yet it is the least favored version and in most cases the worst reviewed. I still own my original PSOne dance pads. Will they work with the PSTwo? And if they do work which DDR should a man start with?

MAX? MAX2? The EXTREMEs? Or maybe that SuperNOVA?

Either way I miss dancing the night away.
