PC Gamer has put up an interview with artist extraordinaire Daniel Dociu, the Lead Director on Guild Wars 2.
Tim Edwards: What’s the guiding principles that you look for in Guild Wars 2 art?
The overall sensibility that led us in developing the first game remain in place, and we are shooting to elevate the level of art without negating what we did the first time around. If I were to sum it up in a bullet point format, really high on the list of attributes we’d assign to our work is craftsmanship. We want the game to feel like a product of artisans who deeply care about their craft and are passionate about constantly bettering themselves as artists.
